She loves to cook, is an excellent housekeeper and has an after school job as a janitor to help pay her tuition fees (since she doesn't want to be a burden on her grandfather). She's always polite, and is extremely (to an unbelievable extent) kind and selfless; in fact, the other characters sometimes have to tell her that she needs to look out for her own interests. Both of her parents are deceased. Her Mother, Kyoko, was a celebrated "yankee"-gang leader, and her father was a young high school teacher. Her Father died of pneumonia when Tohru was three years old and her mother of a car accident when Tohru first entered High school. Tohru is a very kind girl who is always looking on the bright side of everything. Despite the attitude anyone else shows her, she always shows kindness. She even influenced Kyo and Yuki to tone the constant fighting down.
She is usually very deep in thought, and due to this fact, she is very clumsy.
In turn for her room at Shigure's house, she cleans the house and makes all their meals for them.
And no matter how much Yuki or Kyo get depressed or angry, she never gives up trying to get them to look on the bright side.
She even blows all of her money to buy everyone chocolates for Valentine's day. Before she met Yuki and Shigure, she had been living in a tent on what she did not know was their property. Tohru was at first only offered a night there to recover from a fever. Then in the morning, Yuki asked her if she would like to stay there. Things get interesting when she finds out the Sohma family curse.

I'm still A- Okay. 12:01 AM Sunday, December 11, 2005 an excursion to the mall dear diary, Wow, I never thought time could pass by this fast. It's December! Good thing I've saved money to buy gifts for my friends. The plan to go shopping to the mall was right on cue -- thanks to Hana-chan and Uo-chan. It's our habit to go shopping before Christmas. "Ano, Shigure-san. Is it okay for me to go to the mall? Hana-chan and Uo-chan are going with me. Too bad, Yuki-kun and Kyo-kun are asleep." Come to think of it, is it a good idea to let them come? I mean, I love them to come, but since malls are usually crowded, maybe it would be troublesome for them.Boy there were lots of people in the mall! Everybody's rushing through the department store, through shops and botiques. I guess, it WOULD be really troublesome for Yuki-kun and Kyo-kun to come with us after all. "Yosh! Let's get it on!" so I grabbed my list in my pocket.Only 2 hours have passed and we're almost finished. I bought gifts for Uo-chan and Hana-chan. I bought gifts for the three gentlemen at Shigure-san's house. I bought a gift for my adorable Kisa-chan. I also bought a gift for Hiro-kun. Not to forget, Hatori-san, Hatsuharu-kun, Momiji-kun and Kagura-san! I haven't forgotten about Ri-chan-san and Ayame-san, too. The people remaining on the list are Isuzu-san and Akito-san... though, I think I'm still missing someone. I can't remember. "Ano, aren't those..." I uttered, "Huh?" wondered Uo-chan. "Ahh, never mind. I though I saw Kyo-kun and Kagura-san." But why would they go to the mall. It's dangerous for them to go here.I really had a great time in the mall. We did lots of stuffs! We played the arcades, watched a movie, tried out clothes, and ate at a fancy restaurant. I'll have to admit. I feel embarrassed for letting Hana-chan pay the meals. I really would like to pay for mine. Unfortunately, since I'm kinda' short, whew. How lucky! I saw a beautiful black kimono on sale. They make cute black kimonos these days. Yosh! The black kimono would be perfect for Isuzu-san. On the other hand, I don't know what would Akito-san prefer. So I bought him a beautiful ornament. We left the mall around 8pm. Hana-chan and Uo-chan accompanied me back home and I saw Yuki-kun and Shigure-san waiting at the front door. I felt happy when I saw them. "Okaeri, Tohru-kun. Uhm... Pardon me, if I didn't go with you to the mall. You must be exhausted with those bags you're carrying. Let me help." said Yuki-kun I'm still A- Okay. 11:35 PM Wednesday, December 07, 2005 morning glory dear diary, "Okaeri, Mr. Sun."What a bright day. Fog lingers in the air outside. The air is so cold I could sleep again. But if that happens, I might be late for the household chores. I better not disappoint them. That is most unpleasant. It's a little awkward for me to write in the morning. Since, I have to record the events after they happen right? But I'm in such a good mood that I can't help it. No, maybe I should stop and write later. Anyway, I think it's going to be a great day today. So, I looked at the clock... "What?! It's already past seven! I better get the chores done!" then I hurriedly rushed downstairs. "Ohayou-gozaimasu! Nani? Are these Christmas decorations?" then it hit me... It's almost lunch time. I just made my way upstairs just to write what happened earlier. I will come back, diary, and write later. I'm still A- Okay. 12:30 PM ![]() |
