Tohru Honda is 16. She is an orphaned high school student.
Tohru ends up sharing house with Shigure, Yuki and Kyo Sohma.
She loves to cook, is an excellent housekeeper and has an after school job as a janitor to help pay her tuition fees
(since she doesn't want to be a burden on her grandfather). She's always polite, and is extremely (to an unbelievable extent)
kind and selfless; in fact, the other characters sometimes have to tell her that she needs to look out for her own interests.
Both of her parents are deceased. Her Mother, Kyoko, was a celebrated "yankee"-gang leader, and her father was a young high school
teacher. Her Father died of pneumonia when Tohru was three years old and her mother of a car accident when Tohru first entered
High school.
Tohru is a very kind girl who is always looking on the bright side of everything.
Despite the attitude anyone else shows her, she always shows kindness.
She even influenced Kyo and Yuki to tone the constant fighting down.
She is usually very deep in thought, and due to this fact, she is very clumsy.
In turn for her room at Shigure's house, she cleans the house and makes all their meals for them.
And no matter how much Yuki or Kyo get depressed or angry, she never gives up trying to get them to look on the bright side.
She even blows all of her money to buy everyone chocolates for Valentine's day.
Before she met Yuki and Shigure, she had been living in a tent on what she did not know was their property.
Tohru was at first only offered a night there to recover from a fever.
Then in the morning, Yuki asked her if she would like to stay there. Things get interesting when she finds
out the Sohma family curse.

The Blog of Tohru Honda...
Thursday, March 01, 2012
everyone's here, mom
dear diary,
I'd say that today was a complete surprise. After school, when I came back home and prepare to set out and clean mother's grave, Kyo-kun and Sohma-kun insisted to tag along. I was a bit concerned how Sohma-kun was holding up. Sohma-kun still had a flu. But he really wanted to come with us. I told Sohma-kun to bring his coat.
Before we left the house around 4pm, Shigure-san and Kisa-chan appeared in the horizon; Shigure-san waved at me. They wanted to come with me too. I expect Uo-chan and Saki-chan to be there too. I think they're already waiting. We're a pretty big party now.
As expected, "Uo-chan! Saki-chan! Kombanwa!" I found my friends waiting in front of mother's grave. But I dearly noticed that my mom's grave was left unattended. There was a lot of work to do and I'm glad everyone's here.
"Well, let's get started." Shigure-san rubbed his hands.
"Honda-san what do you want me to do?"
"Uhh... ano..." Sohma-kun. You're still sick. "Can you go see if there's a faucet nearby? We need water in the bucket."
"Okay." Sohma-kun smiled.
"Ano, Uo-chan can help you."
"Why what's wrong?" asked Uo-chan. I whispered to her that he wanted to come with us even though Sohma-kun is sick. "Well... whatever."
We spent about two hours cleaning mother's grave. By the time we were done, it was already almost dark. Shigure-san invited everyone to go back home. We ate afterwards. In the middle of the supper, the telephone rang. It was my cousin. She said that grandpa hurt his back. 'That explains why mom's grave was somewhat unattended.' I will visit grandpa tomorrow. I felt bad when I heard the news.
I'm still A- Okay. 8:34 PM
